COLFAX, WA - The Frank Lazcano trial began Monday in the Whitman County Courthouse, just a few days after Frank's brother, Daniel Lazcano's trial was declared a mistrial.
Monday, a 12-person jury was selected for Frank's trial, and counsel delivered their opening statements. Last week, a jury ruled Daniel Lazcano guilty of improperly disposing of human remains, but they couldn't reach a verdict on the murder and kidnapping charges.
The State of Washington is accusing the Lazcano brothers of kidnapping, murdering, and improperly disposing the body of Marcus Shur in December 2011.
