ASOTIN, WA - A convicted rapist has requested to strike his February 14th trial.

In Asotin County Superior Court Monday, Judge William Acey granted a motion to strike the impending trial in regards to the Detention of Monte Hoisington. The trial will determine if Hoisington should continue to be held as a sexually violent predator at the McNeil Island Special Commitment Center.

Defense Attorney Dale slack informed the court that he wishes to seek a review by an appellate court of Judge Acey's decision to deny a motion for summary judgment. Hoisington was previously convicted of three rapes in the Valley, two in Lewiston and one in Clarkston. The trial is now set for a status review hearing on April 16th at 1:30 p.m.
