Idaho State Treasurer Ron Crane visits Moscow
MOSCOW, ID - The Idaho State Treasurer made a trip to Moscow Thursday. KLEW News had a chance to talk with him about the Gem state's financial situation.

State Treasurer Ron Crane said Idaho has a double A+ credit rating, which is an all time high for Idaho. He said the state doesn't have any long-term debt and they're managing their finances well, which allows them to qualify for the lowest interest rates available in the nation.

"We're doing very well financially," said Crane. "We are on a slow growth pattern, slightly upward, not setting the world on fire, but right where we want to be. We're moving in the right direction."

Crane also announced his plans to bring the "Smart Women, Smart Money" Conference to Moscow next fall. It's a free event that teaches women how to budget money, reduce their debt, and make investments. The conference has been held in Boise for 14-years. It'll come to the Best Western in Moscow for the first time on September 25th.
