LEWISTON, ID - A state employee was honored for his decades of service at a ceremony on Wednesday.

Master Corporal Jim Brouwer has entered into retirement after 27 years with the Idaho State Police. Brouwer was mainly in charge of the area around Grangeville, and was emotional as he addressed fellow officers one last time.

"I have really been proud of being able to work for the Idaho State Police," said Brouwer. "And when I look at those officers that are replacing us old people, I know that I will always be proud of the Idaho State Police."

Along with plaques and certificates, Brouwer was also given his badge, gun and handcuffs to cherish forever.
