Probable cause affidavit released regarding Highland School disturbance

CRAIGMONT, ID - A copy of the probable cause affidavit regarding an alleged attack by a parent in a classroom in Craigmont came Friday from the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.

According to court documents, substitute teacher Susan Eaton was teaching the class when Byron Edwards, who is the father of one of her students, allegedly caused a disturbance.

Eaton told Lewis County Sheriff Brian Brokop that she witnessed Edwards trip a student, place another child in a headlock and was told by another boy with a red mark on his face that he was slapped.

In the closing statement of the report, Brokop said he believes Edwards willfully caused or permitted children to suffer undue physical pain by kicking, tripping, holding in a head lock and/or striking a child's face.
