Hearing is set for Urban Renewal Agency dispute
LEWISTON, ID - The Urban Renewal Agency filed an official response to the county's order to close the North Lewiston and Nez Perce Terrace projects.

The 18-page verified answer includes several reasons as to why the districts shouldn't be closed, despite their completion. According to court documents "the county lacks standing to challenge the actions of the agency or city to consider termination of the plan." Both the City and County are preparing for trial.

"The hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. Friday morning at the Nez Perce county courthouse, in front of Judge Griffin,” said Nez Perce County Commissioner Doug Havens. “And at that time both parties will present their cases."

And while all parties will have an opportunity to speak on Friday, the ultimate decision, lies with the judge. KLEW will continue to keep you updated on all the latest developments in this case.
