Erb's Ace Hardware, at 141 Thain Road has been operating in the City for a century. Erb's used to be an industrial supplier to Potlatch and other area businesses around the Lewis-Clark Valley and although it still supplies industrial equipment, the store is primarily a retail establishment for the community.
"I believe we offer better service from what our competition does," said General Manager Jeremy Weeks. "Customers like coming here for that smaller hometown atmosphere."
Weeks said people choose Erb's Ace Hardware because it's quick and easy. He said it's a recognizable name and reminds many people of their hometown hardware store they may have visited with their father or grandfather.
Weeks said the product selection provided to the customers has changed since the original building was located on 5th and D Street.
