CLARKSTON, WA - Last year, Walla Walla Community College won $400,000.

Now, they're giving that money right back to their students.

Walla-Walla Community College won the money for Community College Excellence. They're using the prize to help out their students. Clarkston Director Janet Danley said any student who needs help paying for books or tuition can apply.

"I suspect it will be an opportunity that doesn't come our way very often so we are really trying to get the word out and let students know that they can come to college and we will help them fund it," said Danley.

The prize money came from the Aspen Institute. They work to help community colleges improve teaching. Their main focus is to help low-income and minority students.
