ASOTIN, WA - A grain truck was the cause of a small lot fire Monday morning along Highway 129.

Blue Mountain Fire District Number One responded with the help of Asotin County Fire District Number One after a hot piece of metal on a grain truck drive line sent sparks into a nearby yard.

Blue Mountain Fire Chief Chad Sanford said about five acres of land were damaged. They were still putting out hot spots late Monday afternoon. However, Sanford said the fire is contained and not a hazard at this point.
