Gambling charges dismissed for CHS wrestling coach
CLARKSTON, WA - A Clarkston High School wrestling coach accused of sports gambling won't serve jail time or face a fine.

Duane Benton, 40, was given a deferred prosecution and ordered to pay $250 in court fees. Benton was originally charged with possession of gambling records for creating a Super Bowl sports board with a $10,000 payout. A deferred prosecution means Benton is on probation for
one-year.

If he follows the terms, the charge is dismissed from his record entirely. Benton originally faced one-year in jail and a fine of up to $5,000.
