Nezperce Elementary students rewarded for participation in Fuel Up Program
LEWISTON, ID - Collaborative efforts between the NFL and the National Dairy Council to make a local difference through Fuel Up, Play 60, program teaches kids to be healthy and active.

Nezperce Elementary Fuel Up Advisor Callie Zenner said students from her school got rewarded today for the work they put into the program this academic year. The students enjoyed sometime outside at a local park in Lewiston Wednesday.

"Today is the year-end celebration for our elementary kids, and it's a part of the Fuel Up program," said Zenner. "They get to come out and play football and we were at the Asotin County Family Aquatic Center this morning just celebrating all of their accomplishments through the fuel up program this year."

"Before this program I hated going to recess," said student ambassador Kyra Arnzen. "I'm like do I have to go out and now I'm like constantly watching the clock and I can't wait to get outside."

The students went through dairy curriculum to learn how to eat healthier. This includes taste-testing different kinds of healthy foods. The kids also got active by playing games they're familiar with and also ones teachers made up like Nitro-Ball. Zenner said she hopes to make this an annual event.
