Former Asotin resident could face life in prison for child molestation charges

CLARKSTON, WA - The Asotin County Prosecutor's Office charged a former Asotin resident Wednesday with two counts of first degree child molestation.

Casey Thornton, 32, is currently serving time in Oregon for separate convictions of a similar nature,

Thornton is accused of molesting an Asotin girl, who is now 13-years-old, between the dates of May 1st of 2005 and July 31st, 2006. According to Oregon Department of Corrections officials, the earliest he will be released from custody is November 2036.

If convicted on any of the two charges in Washington, Thornton could face life in prison.
