LHS construction students work on First Territorial Capitol Building

LEWISTON, ID - The replica of a historical landmark currently under construction in the City of Lewiston is nearing the final stages of completion.

The flooring of the First Territorial Capitol replica, currently located at the corner of 12th and Main Street is nearly finished. With the help of Lewiston High School senior construction students, the project is coming along quickly while giving students a hands-on lesson about on-site construction.

"Being involved in construction, a lot of the time we just see short pieces of the process, here we're going to see the whole thing," said
Lewiston High School construction teacher Stuart Johnson.

Once the flooring is finished, the students will help with electrical, insulation and framework installation. The Capitol Building is scheduled for completion in mid-March.
