Forest service comrades devastated by news of losing firefighter Anne Veseth
OROFINO, ID - A firefighter, who was a student at Lewis-Clark State College, was killed Sunday afternoon while battling a fire just North of Orofino.

Anne Veseth, 20 , of Moscow, was killed after she was hit by a snag while fighting the fire.

The fatality occurred near the Aquarius Campground in the North Fork Ranger District, north of Orofino.

"All Forest Services employees are really devastated by the loss of one of their own," said Northern Region of the Forest Service Public Information Officer Elizabeth Slown. "It just gives you pause to think of the ultimate sacrifice that this young woman has made."

According to Lewis Clark State College Communication Director Greg Meyer, Veseth was currently enrolled at LCSC this fall and was working toward a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. Veseth was a full time student at the college since fall of 2010. In May of 2012, Veseth graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Auto Mechanics Technology. She was also on the Dean's List all four semesters, graduated with Presidential honors and was a LCSC Foundation Scholar recipient.
