LEWISTON, ID - Churches from all over the community are working to Feed the 5000 once again.

The second annual food drive this Saturday is an event that aims to stock the shelves of local food banks and bring the community together. Nineteen churches from the area are collecting food donations, giving out free food for participants and offering free services like haircuts and medical screenings to those who show up.

Pastor Gretchen Rehberg of a local Lewiston church said the event is all about coming together to help others.

"That supersedes any differences we have over theology or styles of worship, what type of music we like," said Rehberg. "Really the call to service and loving action is what unites us and that's what we want to express."

The food collected this weekend is going to the Idaho Foodbank and the Asotin County Food Bank. It's at Kiwanis Park in Lewiston from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
