LEWISTON, ID - Fantazia salon hosted a cut-a-thon on Saturday to raise money for a local non-profit.

Haircuts were free and all donations went straight to the Lewiston Family Readiness Group, an organization that provides support to military families before, during and after their loved ones are deployed overseas.

The Combat Vets Motorcycle Association let kids take pictures up on their bikes and the Lewiston Young Marines hosted a mouth-watering bake sale. CVMA member Wendie Kause knows first hand the importance of the FRG. Her husband came back from his tour in Iraq a year ago.

"You miss them and the FRG is very supportive because all the women that are left behind can get together about all those fears and worries and the sleepless night and you realize you're not crazy, you're sharing," said Kause.

The cut-a-thon and bake sale raised $550 and Fantazia Salon plans on holding the event again next year.
