Domestic dispute involved accidental shooting of girlfriend
LEWISTON, ID - A Lewiston woman is recovering Monday night after she was shot in the leg over the weekend.

According to Lewiston police, 25-year-old Derrick Quigley accidentally shot his girlfriend, 24-year-old Christine M.Talbott, during a domestic dispute early Saturday morning. Police said that based on the extent of the injury, Talbott had to be air-lifted to Coeur d' Alene. LPD said that precautions are always heightened when going to the scene of a crime, involving a gun shot.

"We would have more personnel than normal respond to that call and try to plan for the worst not knowing what your going into," said LPD Captain Tom Greene.

Quigley was booked for aggravated assault and made his first appearance in court Monday. The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
