PULLMAN, WA - Saturday night was an exciting time for 19 of Washington's most distinguished high school juniors.

The Distinguished Young Women of Washington 2012 ceremony was held on the WSU campus at Beasley Coliseum. The ladies displayed their beauty, talent and intellect not to compete for a crown, but a college scholarship. This year's winner is Nicole Renard from Kennewick.

"It really hasn't settled in yet," said Renard. I'm so excited to represent Washington this year and to go to Mobile, Alabama next June."

Renard will travel to Alabama to compete for the Distinguished Young Woman of America title. More importantly, she was awarded a $4,000 scholarship, in addition to a few smaller scholarships that she won in other categories such as fitness and talent.

The first and second runners up were Camiel Bruneel of Moses Lake and Lindsay Webber of Colfax.
