Corporal Eric Kjorness said after running a child pornography filter on 27-year-old Tyler Mink's computer, they've found hundreds of files of sexually exploitative material. Kjorness said it's so important to prosecute individuals who commit these sorts of crimes for the sake of the victims.
"Some people think of the child pornography as a victimless crime and that is the farthest thing from the truth," said Kjorness. "The victims that are in the pictures and videos are scarred for the rest of their life."
Kjurness said because they have so many files to go through, they can neither confirm nor deny if any students and children from the Culdesac School District were victimized by the Lewiston resident. Kjurness said the former teacher who resigned last month is not in custody at this time but is due in court on February 27th at the Nez Perce County Court House.
If you or anyone you know may have been affected by these crimes the Lewiston Police Department is asking you to call them at (208) 746-0171.
