CLARKSTON, WA - A piece of a $25,000 sculpture is missing from a city landmark.

City of Clarkston employees were working on the fountain Wednesday when they noticed one of the 40-inch stainless steel fish missing. In 2007, the city spent nearly $180,000 on the artwork that sits in the intersection of Bridge Street and Diagonal Street.

Public Works Director Jim Martin said while it was a city project, there were many private donations that made it possible.

"With all the donations with all the rock work and the fountain work," said Martin. "There was even a group of elementary students at Parkway Elementary that did a penny drive to help fund that project."

Each fish is valued at $2,500. If you have information about the fish, you're urged to call Clarkston Police Dispatch at 758-2331.
