Clarkston Police Chief Joel Hastings said 17-year-old Robert A. Anderson is responsible for about 100 or so car prowls that have taken place over the last two months. According to Hastings, Anderson admitted to breaking into unlocked vehicles around the area searching for money and other valuable items. Hastings said that the boy has been living as a transient during that time, and he will be tried as an adult.
"Officers are trying to positively identify which vehicles he did enter," said Hastings. "These vehicle prowls go back about two months."
Due to the shear number of vehicles that were broken into, it's unclear if police will be able to identify every single charge. However there are twelve so far that Anderson's been connected to. He faces charges of resisting arrest, theft, trespass in the first-degree as well as some drug-related charges.
