City of Lewiston West Enhancement Project suffers another set back
LEWISTON, ID - The cities effort to beautify the west entrance into Lewiston has suffered yet another set back.
The West Enhancement Project, which was scheduled to finish up in early June, is now set to finish in May of 2013. Lewiston Parks and Recreation Director Tim Barker said due to this year's weather, an extension was necessary. The $904,000 project is nearly complete with just the painting of the mural left unfinished. Barker said paint suppliers recommended waiting to ensure paint for the mural would stick properly to the wall.
At this time the mural sketch is finished, but because the wall would need to be 35 degrees or warmer for up to two weeks, an extension was granted.

To spend 904,000 dollars towards this project to beautify the back side of this building is seems like such a waste of use for this amount of money. That kind of money could be put towards something that could benefit the city like more activities for kids to do, a new mall (because ours has stayed the same for the last 30 years), etc. I just think it is crazy to spend that kind of money towards something like this when it could be put to more use than this. It was very frustrating to my husband and I when we saw the news tonight and learned that 904,000 dollars is how much money its taking to put into this project! I am not saying it isn't pretty but just not worth that kind of money.
