Alissa Miller received an "Outstanding Citizen" award from Pullman Police Chief Gary Jenkins during a special Police Advisory Committee meeting on Monday night. Miller's friend was a victim of an armed robbery and home invasion in November, and Miller spotted a group of suspects at the local WalMart just hours after it happened.
"Alissa observed suspects matching the suspect descriptions making purchases at self-checkout," said Pullman Police Chief Gary Jenkins. "She convinced the WalMart employee to show her one of the receipts and Alissa obtained part of the credit card number used... Good job."
Miller's actions helped officers arrest two suspects on felony charges and prosecution is pending. Seven police officers and a staff member of the department also received awards during the ceremony Monday night.
