Bring your decoration-free Christmas tree to the waste bins on North Almon St.
PULLMAN, WA - Up on the Palouse, Pullman Disposal is picking up trees on regular trash days, but if you wait until January fourth... you can compost that tree and support local Boy Scouts in the process.

If you want your tree composted just have it on the curb by 8:00 a.m. a week from Saturday. Make sure it doesn't have any decorations, and tag it with a note that says it's for the scouts. The Pullman Boy Scouts will collect the trees, and they accept donations in return.

“It helps the young men earn money," said Pullman Troop 445 Scout Master Richard Jackson. "It gives them a sense of belonging, a sense of pride in what they’re doing. They’re actually working towards a goal of earning money for Scout Camp.”

If you want to donate, call 509-229-7560, or head to the Pullman Disposal website for more details.

If you live in Moscow, you can compost your tree for free at Moscow Recycling. Bring your decoration-free Christmas tree to the 24-hour waste bins on North Almon Street whenever it’s convenient for you. And if it’s taller than five-feet, they ask that you cut it in half.
