LEWISTON, ID - A young Idahoan is growing out her long blond hair for a good cause, and she's inspiring her local family members.

Eight-year-old Angelyn Wade was horrified to learn a three-year-old Meridian girl was made fun of for being bald, due to the chemotherapy she was undergoing to combat her Stage 4 neuroblastoma. Wade decided to grow out her hair in hopes of turning it into a wig. For each inch she grows out, she's asking people to pledge money for Lilyan King. Angelyn is almost to her goal and her grandparents who live in the L.C. Valley couldn't be more proud of her.

"About here," said Angelyn. " We're going to cut off eleven inches."

"Just so proud and it's Angelyn," said Angelyn's grandma Teresa Waller. "I mean she is just the most giving and the most wonderful little girl. I keep going back to, I have a nickname for her. And she's my angel girl."

Seventy-six people have pledged to donate money for each inch of Angelyn is able to grow, and so far she's raised almost $3,000. While the money will go to the King family, the wig won't go to Lilyan directly. However both Angelyn and Lilyan are happy knowing the wig will benefit another person suffering from cancer.
