No new charges against tribal police officer involved in April shooting

LAPWAI, ID - The Lewis County Prosecutor's office said they will not re-file charges against a tribal police officer who shot and killed a man during a heated car chase.

Tribal Officer Robert Wall previously faced charges of voluntary manslaughter with a deadly weapon in April, however the charges were dismissed during a preliminary hearing.

Jeffrey Flinn, 46, of Lewiston suffered a fatal gunshot wound during a car chase with local police officers, after he stole a vehicle on Waha road back in 2011.

Prosecuting Attorney Zachary Pall said in a statement released to media outlets that - quote - "given the evidence in this case, including video, the reactions of other officers on scene... the office of the prosecutor felt that it was critical that the court system make the final determination in this case." - end quote.
