Car mechanic injured when vehicle came off jack-stand

OROFINO, ID - An Orofino man was in the hospital on Friday after he was pinned under a vehicle at Tom's Auto and Truck Repair that afternoon.

According to the Orofino Police Department, the owner of the store was working on a vehicle when it came off the jack stand and he became trapped.

The man was able to reach his cell phone, which was laying on the floor nearby, and called police. Emergency responders were able to unpin the man from underneath the vehicle.

Officer's said the man was responsive when they arrived and estimate he was under the vehicle for roughly five minutes.

He has since been transported to Clearwater Valley Hospital, and his condition is unknown at this time as police have not released his name.
