LEWISTON, ID - A candlelight vigil was held Monday evening at the home of a Lewiston girl, who was killed in a car accident over the weekend.

Ashley Nelson's family and friends gathered to remember the 16-year-old's life by lighting candles and bowing their heads for a moment of silence. Individuals also came forward to express their loving memories of a life that ended much too soon.

"I'm going to miss her, but she's in a better place," said Ashley's friend. "She loves everyone, she has the biggest heart."

"She's definitely a great person, she could make anybody smile, she could make anybody laugh," said another friend. "She's definitely going to be missed."

Along with the tears, came words of concern that no hate should come of what happened. Family members encouraged everyone to keep in mind that the loss should bring no blame and that any hatred or anger should be dismissed.
