According to Lewiston Building Planner John Smith, plans have been submitted to reconstruct the inside of a building that once belonged to Tidyman's grocery store.
Many outdoors men like Lamar Johnson and Gary Lee are relieved they may no longer have to travel far to get the outdoor recreational supplies they need.
"I hunt, I fish, I've got four wheelers," said Johnson. "I've got a cabin out in Elk City so any outdoor stuff I would buy."
"I think it's a little overdue," said Lee. "It would be nice to have something of that size that has a substantial inventory. Help us out down here, won't have to drive all the way to Coeur d'Alene or Boise to get what we need."
Smith said representatives of Sportsman's Warehouse said they hope to have the store open by Spring 2013, pending their lease and construction agreements.
