After nearly 5 years, Bergdahl is still being held captive.
PULLMAN, WA - Friday was Idaho's captured soldier Bowe Bergdahl's birthday, a somber reminder to his friends and family that he's still not home after nearly five-years as a prisoner of war.

In June of 2009 Sergeant Bergdahl was taken captive by the Taliban while serving in Afghanistan. Since then, photos and videos of Bergdahl give the impression that his health is deteriorating.

Debbie O'Neill lives in Bergdahl's hometown in Hailey, Idaho. She said a group working to bring Bowe home got thousands of people to send local and state representatives birthday cards for Bowe's 28th Birthday.

"Even representative Labrador posted a picture of some of the cards that he has received and said it's time to bring Bowe home," said O'Neill.

For Christmas, the group was able to collect 700,000 cards to send to the White House. This June they're hosting another "Bring Bowe Back" rally in Hailey.
