Blakey running for council seat believes URA is great tool to promote city growth

Blakey running for council seat believes URA is great tool to promote city growth
LEWISTON, ID - Four seats on the Lewiston City Council are up for grabs. Financial Consultant Bob Blakey said that experience and desire for city growth are a few reasons why he should get the votes.

Maintaining the budget, city growth and the development of a new tax base are some of the challenges candidate Bob Blakey said he's ready for. Blakey would like to see the community park expanded and believes the Urban Renewal Agency is a great tool to promote growth within the city.

"All you have to do is look around and see how successful the Urban Renewal district has been," said D.A. Davidson & Co. Financial Consultant, Bob Blakey. "That body of people have done a wonderful job of taking one of the few tools that the state gives the cities to work with. And I'm a supporter of it."

A balanced budget and moderate taxes are areas that Blakey will look into if elected. Blakey said that he's a good listener and can work well with others to get great things done.

Voters can select four candidates on their ballot. Be sure to tune in on Wednesday, we'll introduce you to candidates Mike Collins and Jesse Maldonado.
