A stage-two evacuation notice has been given to residents.
LEWISTON, ID - A wild-land fire burning 24-miles south of Lewiston is threatening more than 100 structures Tuesday night.

The Big Cougar Fire has burned approximately 19,000 acres and is threatening 160 structures at this time.

The fire was caused by lightning and remains at zero percent containment. Several agencies are working on the blaze with more than 100 firefighters dedicated to this one incident.

Right now the focus is on the northern flank of the fire which has the greatest potential for fire growth. A stage-two evacuation notice has been given, meaning people should be ready to leave with a moments notice.
