Beuk Aie Temple and ancient artifacts Exhibit re-opening
LEWISTON, ID - The LCSC Center for Arts & History is re-opening the Beuk Aie Temple after years of the exhibit having been closed.

The temple has been closed to the public after a fire roared through the Center for Arts and History back in 2009. The redesign and restoration of the temple has been in the process for years, and Thursday they'll unveil the Beuk Aie Temple and ancient artifacts for all to enjoy, which director of the Center for Arts and History, Debi Fitzgerald, says the wait was well worth it.

"A lot of research has been done the last few years for the Chinese Remembering program,"said Fitzgerald. "So that has really brought home the significance of this temple, far beyond the original acquisition of this temple when we received it in the early 90's."

The history of the Chinese community in the L-C Valley goes back to the mid-1800's. A reception for the re-opening is underway Thursday, otherwise the gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free.
