Annual Cornmaze event at Roundup grounds is cancelled

Annual Cornmaze event at Roundup grounds is cancelled
LEWISTON, ID - What would've been the Corn Maze at the Lewiston Roundup Grounds...is now being harvested.

The corn was just too weak to withstand the storms this year and wasn't growing properly. So University of Idaho student clubs from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and people from Kaufman Farms decided to call off the fall event this year.

"This is agriculture, this is the college of Ag, it's a learning lesson in itself," said U of I Science Writer, Bill Loftus. "And so students are benefiting from the maze, even though it didn't work out this year."

Last year, the student clubs raised nearly $15,000 putting on the Corn Maze. The money went toward scholarships, field trips and other activities.
