CLARKSTON, WA - Two Asotin County Jail inmates received a very special gift Thursday afternoon in Asotin County Superior Court.

On behalf of Asotin County Superior Court Judge Ray Lutes and upon the recommendations of both the Asotin County Jail staff and the prosecutors office, 30-year-old Ladonna Peterson and 48-year-old Danny Jergensmeier were released from jail early as part of the annual Christmas Release Program.

"I get to see my kids, I get to hold my kids, my family - I can't wait!" said Peterson.

"I'm so happy, I can't wait to see my kids," said Jurgensmeier. "I can't wait to get home and see them."

Both nominees are overcome with excitement and said they're looking forward to spending Christmas with their families. Peterson was released eight days prior to the end of her sentence and Jurgensmeier was released 39-days early.
