Alleged kidnapper pleads not guilty to charges from last summer
LEWISTON, ID - A Lewiston man pleaded not guilty to six-felony charges in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a child and two adults last summer.

Roger Ehler, 56, appeared in Clearwater County 2nd District Court Tuesday morning for the alleged kidnapping of a six-year-old and two men. According to court documents, Ehler forced the three into a minivan and demanded a ride to Orofino. After a brief standoff, the minivan was intercepted by law enforcement and Ehler was taken into custody and transported to the Clearwater County Jail where Ehler remains on a $600,000 bond.

Ehler pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree kidnapping,
one count of aggravated battery, one count of injury to a child and one count of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, all of which are felonies. Ehler also pleaded not guilty to three misdemeanor counts for exhibiting a deadly weapon, resisting or obstructing officers and disturbing the peace. He'll appear before a jury on April 1st.
