Applebee’s supports pediatric cancer research.
LEWISTON, ID - Applebee's restaurant in Lewiston is donating more than $700 to help support childhood cancer research.

The fundraiser is called Alex's Lemonade Stand. It started 14-years ago when 4-year-old cancer patient Alex Scott set up a lemonade stand in her front yard to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer cures. Now, over a decade later, the foundation has become one of the nation's leading organizations that supports pediatric cancer research. Applebee's spent the entire month of July collecting money for the cause.

"It's a great cause," said Manager at Applebee's Sean Tiffany. "Every cent we raise here goes to fight childhood cancer. Every lemonade product that we've sold here, 25-cents of the profit goes toward it also. We're behind it 100%, whatever we can do to help."

Tiffany said the amount they raised this year is double the amount they raised last year. He said they plan to keep fund-raising every July.
