People will travel to be with loved ones despite the uncertain economy.
LEWISTON, ID - Triple-A predicts a record amount of traffic will fill the roads this holiday season.

Lower gas prices and an extended Christmas vacation are a couple reasons as to why almost 90-million Americans will travel this holiday season. AAA Spokesman Dave Carlson said the uncertainty about the economy is not keeping people down.

"The items that's typically play into it, have more to do with the economy," said Carlson. "The economy is actually not doing all that well right now. But we think the opportunity to be with family and friends plays out with this particular holiday more than any other in the year."

According to Triple-A, Idaho's average gas price Monday is $3.10, down from $3.73 three months ago.
