Anderson was last seen in Moscow on April 16.
Last Friday members of the task force searched the area surrounding the town of Johnson south of Pullman.
"We have been looking at that area because there had been a witness that called in and had seen a white SUV in that area around the time that Rachael Anderson disappeared and she was last seen driving a white SUV, so it was a lead we wanted to follow up on," said Asotin County Sheriff's Detective Jackie Nichols.
The team knocked on doors asking if anyone had seen anything suspicious.
"A lot of people gave us some good information for some places to search," said Nichols. "We had a cadaver dog team with us and there are a lot of old abandoned farm houses, old wells, ponds, things like that, that the local residents told us about and we were able to go and search those and were able to cover a lot of area in a pretty timely fashion between having a lot of people there and having the search dogs with us."
Detective Jackie Nichols said the cadaver dogs did not indicate that they picked up any scents. And she said just because they were using the dogs does not mean they are assuming Anderson is no longer alive.
"We are looking for any evidence that we can find," said Nichols. "When we are out in fields and we see things like ponds and old wells we would not be looking for a live person in those things, so we utilize the cadaver dog in those areas. But we are really looking for any evidence or information that will lead us to where Rachael Anderson may be."
Nichols said they are still waiting on complete results from the crime lab for tests done on the white SUV Anderson was reportedly driving before she disappeared and that was later found in North Lewiston.
