This llama was finally tracked down and captured Friday, after roaming wild for about a week, munching down gardens and shrubs.

LEWISTON - Llama Watch 2010 comes to an end.

After spending over a week wandering Lapwai Road, the roaming llama was captured at around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Nez Perce County Sheriff's Deputy Gabe Richardson and a mounted posse safely lassoed the llama and brought it to the Lewiston Livestock Yard.

Despite gaining a bad reputation for munching on neighborhood gardens, Lieutenant Bill Madison said the llama was tame and cooperated with the posse during the capture.

Corporal Patrick Santos said the llama will remain at the livestock yard for one week or until it is claimed by its owner. The llama will be put up for auction if no one comes forward.
