Although the fire is contained, crews will remain in the area all day mopping up areas and searching for hot spots. About 20 engines are still at the fire, which burned an estimated 4,900 acres and destroyed four homes and several outbuildings.
"We don't want to lose anymore structures," Mallory Eils of the Boise BLM told KBOI-TV Thursday morning. "So they're going to focus on those areas and make sure that they're completely out and that all of those structures are still protected."
For residents who live in the area, three Beacon Light intersections will be closed throughout the day including Ballentine, Linder and Park. There will also be roads closed on Willow Creek Road. Crews will also be zoning in on wild land areas to make sure there aren't any other hot spots out there.
"We thought that our house was going to go down," said Jan Snyder, who lives on the same street where two homes were destroyed.
Many took photos of the Highway 16 from several vantage points throughout the Treasure Valley, but one couple, may have taken the highest vantage point photos.
Carol Greene was flying into the Boise Airport from Spokane when she and her husband saw the large plum of smoke.
She snapped the following pictures with her I-Phone and posted them on her Facebook page.
