30 years of biodiesel research at UI
MOSCOW - University of Idaho, scientists and engineers invited the local community on campus this week to celebrate three decades of biodiesel research at the school.

They took a tour of the J.W. Martin Laboratory and the Palouse Research Farm, as well as learned more about the National Biodiesel Education Program.

Jon Van Gerpen, head of the Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department, said the work done at the university has made an important contribution to the field of bio-fuels in the country.

And almost everyone at UI has been involved.

"It's been a great vehicle for a lot of collaborative work, and at a university that's not necessarily a common thing," said Van Gerpen.

Van Gerpen and the rest of the department said they look forward to another 30 years of research.
