MOSCOW - Two 14-year-old Deary boys entered guilty pleas Wednesday in a Latah County highway shooting case.

Austin Rickert and Austin Medlock appeared in Latah County Juvenile Court. They both pleaded guilty to amended charges related to shootings that took place near Helmer in January.

Prosecutors agreed to reduce eleven original counts of felony unlawful discharge of a firearm at a vehicle to just three counts. They did that by combining nine incidents involving semis into just one count, in exchange for the pleas.

Rickert also pleaded guilty to a reduced charge involving a pipe bomb discovered at a residence where he was staying following the shootings.

He was originally charged with unlawful possession of bombs or destructive devices. The reduced charge is misdemeanor altering fireworks.

Both teens are scheduled for disposition (sentencing) on April 26.
