COTTONWOOD - A Lewiston woman is injured in an accident Saturday evening.

Idaho State Police said Roberta Peterson was traveling south on US 95 at milepost 278 when she crossed into the northbound lane. They said the driver of a semi tractor and trailer in the northbound lane swerved to avoid her, but was struck by Peterson's SUV. Peterson's vehicle flipped down an embankment and landed in a ditch. She was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Cottonwood where she was treated and released. The highway was blocked by the semi for 2 1/2 hours.
