Fire victim identified

KOOSKIA - The victim of this week's fatal fire on Nelson Road near Kooskia has been identified.

The Idaho County Sheriff's Office said 82-year-old Shan R. Caren died in the fire at his residence Monday night.

Upon their arrival, emergency responders found the house fully engulfed and could not enter the building. Caren's body was found the following day by personnel of the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating.
