OROFINO - Three people were rescued after their boat capsized Saturday on the Clearwater River.

According to the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office, the trio were traveling on the river near Peck Saturday when their fishing boat hit a rock. The boat took on water and flipped. Two of them were thrown from the boat and the other stayed with it.

The two who ended up in the river were Jimmy Judd of Juliaetta and Barbara Spears of Rathdrum. Judd and Spears were picked up by a nearby boat and transported to shore.

Kevin Otte, also of Rathdrum, was removed from the boat by the Clearwater County Sheriff Marine Rescue Team. All three were checked by the Clearwater County Ambulance and found to be okay.

The accident is being investigated by the Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said Riverview Marina would try to remove the boat from the river Monday.
