LEWISTON – Words can’t explain how good 100 golden brown turkeys smell as they finish cooking.

Tuesday, all those birds were cooked in a huge mobile rotisserie outside of Happy Day Catering.

They'll be used for Happy Day's Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

"We had so much fun doing the veterans dinner that we did, that all the Happy Day stores did and employees just loved it. So we said why don't we do it for Thanksgivings day too?" said Happy Day Corporation President Bruce Finch. "We've always wanted to, talked about it, never done it, time’s running out."

The dinner will be staffed with an all-volunteer crew at Tomato Brothers from 11:00 to 4:00.

"It's for the people who can’t really afford a good dinner and it's also for the people that don't have a place to go," said Finch. "We're accepting donations that we are going to forward on to the Valley Food Bank and any leftover food we are going to donate to the churches that are doing some free meals."
