Three injured in crash near Orofino

OROFINO - Three people were injured in a crash on U.S. 12 Sunday night.

It happened at around 6:15 east of Orofino. Idaho State Police says Jesse Jasper, 18, of Orofino had her car break down in the right hand lane of travel and had her emergency flashers on.

ISP says John Apfelbeck, 79, of Peck was traveling at highway speed, did not see her vehicle and crashed into it.

Jasper, Apfelbeck and Jasper’s passenger, Wanda Head, 75, of Peck, were all transported to Clearwater Valley Hospital.

Apfelbeck was wearing a seat belt, the other two involved were not.

The roadway was wet due to rain according to ISP. The investigation continues.
