CLARKSTON - Every business started as an idea in someone's head.

That was the message taught to Clarkston fourth graders at Wednesday's DECA Entrepreneurship Conference. The kids learned some business basics and were inspired to come up with their own business plans.

"We have Fazzari's, 3 Bs Moving and Storage, Tender Care and then we have the DECA Store," said CHS Senior Riley Swanson.

Three Clarkston High DECA students took the event on as a project they will take to the state competition in March and maybe even nationals.

Organizer Tristan Anderson said the fourth graders weren't the only ones learning. He said putting the project together helped make himself a better business student.

"It helps you to be ready for when you go to college, like college interviews, you know how to shake their hand, answer questions effectively," said Anderson.
