MOSCOW - After a summer of torn-up asphalt and detours, Moscow officials have cut the ribbon on another finished project.

The D Street project east of Mountain View Road included widening pavement, adding bike lanes, and putting in curb, gutters and sidewalks.

The federally-funded project was the guest of honor at a 3:30 ceremony Tuesday.

City Supervisor Gary Reidner said the goal was to improve pedestrian access in the city. The improvements also provide safer access to the city's biggest elementary school, McDonald Elementary, which has about 450 students.
